Motorcycle Wreck
$1,300,000

Motorcycle Wreck

The Injury

In October 2015, our client was safely riding at the speed limit when an elderly man suddenly turned his car directly into his path. Unable to avoid the collision, our client was sent flying off his bike and he sustained serious injuries to his leg. He endured multiple surgeries and sustained permanent injuries resulting in lifelong complications.

The Result

The family quickly involved our firm so we were able to quickly preserve critical evidence in order to prevent the insurance company from turning this into an extended battle in court. Within three months we forced the disclosure of all policies and obtained 100% of their value. The entire story can be read here.

Broken Neck
$1,000,000

Broken Neck

The Injury

Our client was riding in the back seat of a work truck when the driver lost control and wrecked. Client sustained a Type II Hangman’s Fracture to his cervical spine at C2. Emergency surgery was performed, where our client received a posterior open reduction/internal fixation of C2 with occiput to C4, as well as a posterior cervical fusion. Thankfully his spinal cord was not damaged.

The Result

With over $200,000 in unpaid medical bills, our client's sister found us because he had no health insurance and workers compensation was denied. Michael quickly uncovered an auto liability policy, demanded the full limits and negotiated a $1,000,000 settlement in three months after the wreck. He also reduced medical bills to $40,000 to increase the client's total recovery. The entire story can be read here.

Tree Fall
$110,000

Tree Fall

The Injury

Pregnant client renting a house was resting at night when suddenly a tree collapsed on the roof. Owner knew the rotting tree needed removal but failed to act. Terrified client was pinned to her bed until firemen removed her, but thankfully no permanent injury was sustained. Her unborn child was unharmed and total medical bills were $6,000.

The Result

At trial, Michael Gumprecht had to prove the value of the emotional experience that was endured while the client was trapped and waiting for rescue. Despite no permanent injury to the client, a verdict of almost twenty times her medical bills was awarded due to his convincing work at trial.

Wrongful Death
$750,000

Wrongful Death

The Injury

Young man dressed in dark clothing was killed while essentially jaywalking in the dark at 6am through a construction zone. He was struck by a speeding driver for a well-known Fortune 500 company in Georgia. The driver was not cited for speeding or the deadly impact—all parties involved blamed the young man who had been killed. His family sought answers and hoped for any recovery, if possible.

The Result

Michael Gumprecht aided the family in this hotly contested litigation. Defended by one of the top defense firms in Atlanta, enough pressure was gathered through aggressive evidence gathering and litigation posturing to convince the company to offer a fair settlement before trial as a compromise. The family was thankful to avoid potential smearing of their lost son at trial.

Gas Station Slip & Fall
$45,000

Gas Station Slip & Fall

The Injury

Client was exiting the check-out aisle at a gas station when she suddenly slipped and fell in water. The water had been slowly leaking from a beverage cooler for months without any warning signs in place or attempted repair by the gas station. Landing on her right elbow and hip, the client was diagnosed with bruising and limb pain at a local hospital and incurred $8,100 in bills.

The Result

After the insurance company offered $6,000, Michael Gumprecht got involved and his aggressive negotiations resulted in a final settlement of $45,000 without any lawsuit being filed. The client was shocked and extremely pleased with the outcome, over seven times the initial offer.

Drunk 18 Wheeler
$615,000

Drunk 18 Wheeler

The Injury

Two clients were stopped when they were suddenly sideswiped by a drunk 18-wheeler driver at a very low speed, who subsequently fled the scene. Both clients were cleared at the ER and only treated with a chiropractor to the tune of less than $10,000 in medical care.

The Result

Michael Gumprecht aggressively pursued the driver and his insurance company, uncovering key evidence to use as leverage to threaten a potentially embarrassing trial. The case settled for $615,000 without even filing a lawsuit, over thirty times the chiropractic bill amount. Read about DUI cases under our "Practice Areas" to see why we excel in these cases.
